1.

How long is each program?

A)

Under The Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California eligibility rules, a student enrolled in an unaccredited law school that is registered the Committee of Bar Examiners for the State Bar of California must engage in 4 years of legal study in the Juris Doctorate program in order to qualify to sit for the California State Bar Exam.

B)

The Bachelor of Science in Law (BSL) program takes 2 years to complete. Students in this course of study must have an Associate College Degree before enrolling. One of the benefits of this Bachelor program is that its two years of study are the exact same first two years of study in the Juris Doctor program. Therefore, while studying for a Juris Doctorate, the student studies concurrently for his/her BSL. Upon completion of the Bachelor of Science program (equivalent to first two years of study in the law school program), the third and fourth year of J.D. studies are all that remains to be completed before graduating with a law degree and to qualify to sit for the California Bar Exam. The graduate now has a Bachelor of Science Degree and Juris Doctor, all in only four years. This is what we at Esquire College refer to as the Joint BSL/ JD PROGRAM.
